Court confiscates Ex-IGP Benazir’s 119 more properties

A Dhaka court yesterday ordered the authorities concerned to confiscate assets which former IGP Benazir Ahmed and his family members bought through 119 deeds.

Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Public Prosecutor Mahmud Hossain Jahangir confirmed the matter to the media.

Judge Mohammed Ash-Shams Joglul Hossain of the Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Court of Dhaka passed the order confiscating assets of former IGP Benazir in connection with several corruption allegations.

The court ordered seizure of various property documents, four flats and partial shares owned by Benazir, his wife Zeeshan Mirza, elder daughter Farheen Rishta Binte Benazir and younger daughter Tahseen Raisa Binte Benazir inin different companies.

ACC Deputy Director and also the Inquiry Officer on the matter, Md Hafizul Islam submitted an application to the court in this regard.

Under the deeds, Benazir’s family bought four flats in Gulshan while Benazir helmed RAB and police.

In addition, the court ordered to freeze eight 100 percent owned properties and 15 partially owned properties. Benazir, his wife, and three daughters own the properties.
