The case was filed earlier by Amir Hamza Shatil, a resident of Mohammadpur, with the CMM court.

According to the complaint, students were participating in a peaceful procession in the Basila area of Mohammadpur on July 19 when police allegedly fired indiscriminately into the crowd. Abu Sayeed, a local grocer, was struck in the head by a bullet while crossing the road and died at the scene.

The complainant further alleged that former Prime Minister Hasina had repeatedly ordered a severe crackdown on the quota reform movement, which led to the tragic incident.
