With the slogan “Unity of youth against corruption, will build the purity of the future”, the 191st public hearing was held at Kabi Nazrul Auditorium in Rikabi Bazar in Sylhet on Sunday organised by the integrated district office of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) with the aim of increasing public awareness, improving the quality of services in government and autonomous departments and organizations, preventing harassment of service recipients and preventing corruption.
ACC Chairman Dr. Mohammad Abdul Momen was present as the chief guest at the public hearing.
He said that this event is not against anyone. The purpose of the public hearing is to create a link between government service providers and service recipients. He expressed hope that the service providers will deliver government services to the service recipients properly. He.
Regarding the expectations of the people in the new Bangladesh, he said, after August 5, everyone is dreaming of a new Bangladesh. If the expectations and aspirations of the people cannot be fulfilled for the new Bangladesh, it will be an extreme failure and a betrayal of the nation. Therefore, the country must be built anew by stopping corruption.
In the public hearing, the aggrieved public who were harassed or deprived of services against 40 government departments presented their complaints before the commission in the presence of the heads of the departments concerned. The ACC took an immediate decision on the complaints raised by the public.
ACC Commissioner (Investigation) Mian Muhammad Ali Akbar Azizi, Secretary Mohammad Khaled Rahim, Sylhet Divisional Commissioner Khan Md. Reza-un-Nabi, Sylhet DIG Md. Mushfequr Rahman, ACC Director General (Prevention) Md. Akhter Hossain, Sylhet Additional Police Commissioner Md. Masud Rana and Police Superintendent Mohammad Mahbubur Rahman. Sylhet Deputy Commissioner Md. Sarwar Alam acted as the moderator and presided over the meeting.
Earlier, the ACC Chairman laid the foundation stone of the construction of the ACC’s Sylhet Divisional Office building in Alampur of the city.
ACC Commissioner Mian Muhammad Ali Akbar Azizi, ACC Secretary Mohammad Khaled Rahim, Director General Md. Akhter Hossain, officials from various government departments and media personnel were present during the foundation stone laying ceremony.
