Comilla University (CoU) Registrar Md. Mojibur Rahman has been charged with financial and administrative irregularities and has been sent on compulsory leave. As a result, new responsibility has been given to the head of the department of mathematics Professor Dr. Mohammad Anwar Hossen.
The matter was known through an office order signed by Deputy Registrar Md. Dalilur Rahman on Monday (March 3).
According to the office order, Md. Mojibur Rahman was given compulsory leave from March 3 and until further orders and Professor Dr. Anwar Hossen was given additional charge as registrar.
It has also been mentioned that, in view of the complaint against Md. Mujibur Rahman, until he is found guilty through investigation, he will not be able to enter the university, even if he receives salary and allowances, and even he will not be able to enjoy any facilities related to vehicles, telephone, mobile phone and newspapers from the university.
In this regard, Md. Mojibur Rahman Majumder said, ‘I am shocked to see this order. I don’t know about the complaint. An inquiry committee has been formed. I will cooperate with the inquiry committee to uncover the truth. From the place of my conscience, I have not committed any corruption, be it administrative or financial.’
Since you say that you have not committed any kind of corruption, what is the reason for removing you from the permanent post, he said, ‘Since the new administration came, I felt that my path in this university would not be good. My luck is bad. I have fallen into the irony of fate.’
The newly appointed Registrar (Additional) Professor Dr. Mohammad Anwar Hossen said, ‘Actually, it is my job to build a bridge with the students, teachers and the administration.
This position does not have the power to do something big. Carry the orders and I will try to get along well with everyone according to the law.’
