The introduction and discussion meeting of the newly formed Gafargaon Upazila Corruption Prevention Committee was held with the theme “I will not commit corruption, I will not accept corruption, I will not tolerate corruption” in mind.
The meeting was held at the temporary office of the Upazila Corruption Prevention Committee on Friday at 6 pm. Upazila Nirbahi Officer N. M. Abdullah-Al-Mamun attended the meeting as the chief guest and spoke.
Mantosh Biswas, Additional Superintendent of Police, Mohammad Bachchu Mia, Officer-in-Charge, Gafargaon Police Station was present as special guests.
The meeting was conducted by General Secretary Rafiqun Islam and chaired by Dr. K. M. Ehsan Advocate, President, Upazila Corruption Prevention Committee, Gafargaon.
The speakers at the meeting said that corruption is the biggest obstacle to the country’s development and social justice.
Public awareness against corruption should be created at all levels of society and everyone should practice honesty and morality from their respective positions.
In the meeting, the members of the newly formed committee pledged to fulfill their responsibilities.
They said that the collective efforts of all are essential to make Gafargaon a corruption-free upazila.
At the end of the discussion, Dr. K. M. Ehsan Advocate presented crests to the new, old and guests of the committee.
The newly formed Upazila Corruption Prevention Committee President ABM Mokhlesur Rahman, Vice President Dr. K. M. Nazmul Huda Advocate, Bijon Boomer Bardhan, General Secretary HM Touhidul Islam, members Sarwar Jahan Alam, Shri Anil Roy, Sultana Razia Begum, Azizunnesa and others were present at the event.
