Statistics and Information Management Secretary Aleya Akhter urged all stakeholders to work in a coordinated manner to achieve the targets of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
“The government is firm to achieve the SDG targets . . . It has already adopted an action plan to implement the Sustainable Development Goals
declared by the United Nations (UN),” she said.
The secretary came up with this remark while speaking as the chief guest at a seminar on ‘SDG Localization’ organised by the Statistics and Information Management Department at the conference room of the Sylhet Divisional Commissioner’s Office.
She said special emphasis has been placed on the localization of SDGs to involve people from different classes and professions of the society with the SDGs.

In her speech, she instructed the concerned authorities to achieve the SDG targets by 100 percent cultivation of wasteland in Sylhet, bringing 100 percent education to children in tea gardens, and developing roads and infrastructure to expand the tourism.Sylhet Divisional Commissioner Khan Md Reza-un-Nabi chaired the seminar while the keynote address was presented by SDG Cell Deputy Director and Focal Point Md.
