Chattagram Bureau :
Container deliveries pick up as the deadlock at Chattagram Port over the implementation of the new tariff schedule ends.
The deadlock was created by the owners of trucks, covered vans, prime movers, and trailers not driving and the C&F agents going on a four-hour strike.
Mohammad Hossain, general secretary of the Chattagram Prime Mover and Flatbed Owners Association, said that it was not a strike or a strike, but the prime mover owners stopped driving after the Tk 57 pass was increased to Tk 230.
Our trailers have not been running since the night of October 14. On Sunday, the port authorities held a meeting with the owners of goods vehicles and labor leaders and announced the suspension of the increased gate pass fee in the vehicle sector as per the new tariff schedule, and goods deliveries from the port gradually normalized in the afternoon.
According to port sources, container deliveries from the port had come down to 295 from Saturday to Sunday. From 8 am on Sunday to 8 am on Monday, which increased to 3,742.
