The body of a police constable was recovered from the barrack of Chattogram Metropolitan Police.It is primarily believed that he might have died after falling from the fifth floor of the barrack.
The incident took place at Hilltop Barrack House of Dampara Police Lines in the city on Wednesday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Zahidul Islam (24). He was working as a constable in the SAF branch of the Welfare and Force Department of CMP.
He was a resident of Dakkhin Keraniganj of Dhaka district.
CMP Additional Deputy Commissioner Spina Rani Pramanik confirmed the matter to the media saying that Zahidul lived on the fifth floor of Hilltop Barrack House.He fell down from the fifth floor at 4:22 am.
After the incident, he was rushed to the Chattogram Medical College Hospital in a critical condition and was pronounced dead in the morning by the on-duty physician.
CMP ADC said, Zahidul had a toothbrush in his hand during the incident. Consequentlyit is believed that he might have gone to the edge of the balcony while brushing his teeth and fallen down from there.
