Conspiracy for civil coup

A secret meeting was held on Wednesday in a residential apartment in Dhaka, allegedly aiming to organize a civil coup to bring the deposed dictator Hasina back to power.

Prime Minister’s Office Secretary Mohammad Salauddin and Dhaka Divisional Commissioner Md. Sabirul Islam convened the meeting, which was attended by various secretaries loyal to the ousted autocrat Hasina.

Sources reported that 30 secretaries, the Dhaka Divisional Commissioner, several Deputy Commissioners (DCs) and Additional Deputy Commissioners (ADCs), and two Army Officers participated in the secret meeting held in the hall room of Spot Complex in Bashundhara Residential Area, Dhaka.

During the meeting, several blueprints were prepared to reinstate Hasina by ousting the current interim government. Various alternatives were discussed, and the participants decided to implement their plans sequentially. The two army officers assured that two certain divisions would support their efforts.

The nicknames of the participating secretaries included Jahangir, Wahida, Khairul, Lokman, Ali Hossain, Munim, Aminuddin, Salam, Satyajit, Mokammel, and Humayun, among others.

Meanwhile, Dhaka Divisional Commissioner Md. Sabirul Islam denied his participation in the meeting.

In a press release from the Dhaka Divisional Commissioner’s office, it was stated that Sabirul Islam went to his office from his government residence and returned home after office hours. The press release emphasized that the divisional commissioner did not participate in, nor was he aware of, any secret meeting, which had gone viral on social media.

Additionally, the interim government on Thursday (August 15) made Prime Minister’s Office Secretary Mohammad Salauddin an Officer on Special Duty (OSD).

The Public Administration Ministry announced this in a notice, stating that the order was issued in the public interest and would be implemented immediately.
