NN Online:
The second round of reform talks between the National Consensus Commission and political parties resumed Sunday morning, marking the 12th day of dialogue focused on critical constitutional issues.

The meeting, held at the Foreign Service Academy in Dhaka and chaired by Commission Vice Chair Prof Ali Riaz, began at 11am. Key agenda items include discussions on the declaration of a state of emergency and the appointment process for the Chief Justice.

Around 30 political parties are participating, each presenting their views on the proposed reforms. The Commission is expected to finalize and announce a National Charter—a roadmap for reform—after the conclusion of this dialogue phase.

The current round of discussions was inaugurated by Chief Adviser and Commission Chairman Prof Muhammad Yunus on June 2. The Commission, formed on February 15, 2025, was tasked with building national consensus on vital state reforms.

The first phase of talks ran from March 20 to May 19, during which the Commission engaged with 33 parties and alliances.
