The concert titled ‘Dhaka Rock Carnival Season 1: Swadhin Bangla Betar’ in aid of flood victims’ rehabilitation was organised by United Communication.
On September 6, 12 bands of the country will perform at this concert organised by Greenville Outdoor at 100 feet in Dhaka.
‘Shironamhin’, ‘Meghdol’, ‘Avoid Rafa’, ‘Ashes’, ‘Apekkhik’, ‘Aftermath’, ‘AK Rahul & Black Jang’, ‘Higway’, ‘Carnival’, ‘Owned’, ‘Powersurge’, and ‘Sonar Bangla Circus’ will sing at this concert.
The price of the ticket has been fixed at Tk500, Tk800 and Tk1500. Tickets are available at the Get Set Rock website. The proceeds of the concert will be spent on flood-affected people’s rehabilitation.
On the day of the concert, cash, wearable clothes, emergency medicine, rice, pulse, salt, oil, etc food boxes will be collected for the flood victims, food saline and food containers from corporate establishments, water purification tablets etc.
Proceeds from the concerts, cash collected and materials received go to the Get Up Stand Up Or the anti-discrimination students’ relief fund will be distributed to help and rehabilitate the flood victims, said the organisers.
According to the organisers, the people of the flood-affected areas are the victims of the disaster today. They may have lived a good life a few days ago. But now they have to smell the relief by being victims of disaster. Flood damage is difficult to quantify. “But we can support them with the things they need to survive.”
