Staff Reporter :

Members of the victims’ families have filed a complaint against RAB-DB in the International Criminal Tribunal for the disappearance of 6 workers of Islami Chhatra Shibir.

The complaint was filed with the prosecution office on Monday noon.
Later, the law secretary of the Chhatra Shibir Abdullah Al Noman and lawyer Amanullah Al Jihady Adeeb presented detailed information to the journalists.

Lawyers said that the fascist Sheikh Hasina government had carried out inhumane torture on the leaders and activists of the Islamic Chhatra Shibir for the last 15 years. A good number of leaders and activists of the organisation fell victim to enforced disappearances and six of them are still missing.

The family members went to the RAB headquarters on August 6 to look for the six people. The authorities said they would cooperate with them but could not give any information yet. In this context, their families have filed a complaint against the RAB and DB in the International Criminal Tribunal in this regard.

The brother of the missing Chhatra Shibir worker Rizwan Hossain said that in August 2016, SI Nur Alam and one of his men picked up my brother on a bike in front of everyone. As we immediately went to the police station, OC Apoorba Hassan forbade us to look for him (Rizwan). The OC also issued threat of facing similar consequences against us.

Another missing Chhatra Shibir worker Waliullah's sister's husband said that in February 2012, Wali and Mokaddas were going to Kushtia by a bus from Kalyanpur in Dhaka. The bus was stopped in Nabinagar area of Savar and Wali was picked up by RAB. Since then, we have communicated a lot of times with the police station and RAB headquarters, but they could not give us any information.
