Community Action Equality Youth Prog inaugurated

The Community Action Project Equality Youth Program organized by the Sylhet Freedom Youth Club has been inaugurated in Sylhet on Wednesday afternoon.
The inauguration ceremony was started with a garden meeting and tree plantation at the house of the late Haji Hoshiar Ali Talukder, the British-ruled village government of Mandaruka in Bishwanath Upazila of Sylhet, with a garden meeting and tree plantation.
The project was inaugurated by the First Secretary of the Netherlands Embassy in Bangladesh, Ian Suilliens, at a ceremony organized under the chairmanship of the President and Chief Patron of the Sylhet Freedom Youth Club and the Founder Chairman of Talukder Group of Companies Ltd., industrial entrepreneur and businessman, actor Imtiaz Kamran Talukder.
Senior Policy Advisor Mashfika Zaman Satyar, Financial Advisor Bird Easing,Plan International Bangladesh Director Mahin Newaz Chowdhury, Deputy Director Neelima Yasmin, Project Consortium Manager Md. Hasain Shakir, Project Multimedia Specialist Ratan Malo present the inaguration ceremony.
Bishwanath Upazila Executive Officer Sunanda Roy, Upazila Secondary Academic Supervisor Abdul Hamid, Youth Organizer and Actor Kamal Ahmed Durjoy were present as the guests of honor.
In addition, officials from various levels of government and private sector, media personalities, businessmen, social workers and student representatives.
It is worth noting that this project is working to empower youth, eliminate gender inequality and establish women’s rights in eight divisions of Bangladesh, including Sylhet.
Under this project, efforts are being made to build a positive social change and an equal society through capacity building of youth, media literacy, online safety and strategic partnerships with educational institutions and advocacy activities with youth-led organizations.
As part of this project, Sylhet Freedom Youth Club is working on the “Samotay Tarunno” project.
The “Samotay Tarunno” project, implemented by the Jago Foundation Trust and Plan International Bangladesh and funded by the Netherlands Embassy, is now working in Sylhet.
Sylhet Freedom Youth Club, (a Youth-Led Organization (YLO) trained under the “Samotay Tarunno” project and registered under the Department of Youth Development) is a youth-led organization (YLO) Community Action Program (Social Awareness Initiative).
In this, special training on gender stereotypes and prevention of violence against women and a meeting on gender stereotypes and prevention of violence against women were organized. A total of 24 students from grades 5 to 8 participated in the discussion.
In the meeting, they discussed the removal of common misconceptions, prejudices and social barriers regarding menstrual health and hygiene.
At the same time, views were also exchanged on the role of local government in creating a safe, supportive and positive environment for girls in schools and society.
It is worth noting that the “Samata Tarunya” project implemented with the funding of the Netherlands Embassy can have a positive impact on social change in Bangladesh and Sylhet.
