The National Consensus Commission is eager to engage with political parties and swiftly reach a consensus in order to formulate a “National Charter,” according to the commission’s Vice Chairman, Prof. Ali Riaz.
Speaking at a press conference on Monday morning at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban, Prof. Riaz emphasized the importance of initiating discussions and achieving agreement on the key components of the proposed charter.
In response to a question regarding the process, Ali Riaz explained that constitutional amendments could be made through the promulgation of ordinances, citing previous instances in Bangladesh where such methods were employed.
The press conference was attended by several commission members, including Badiul Alam Majumdar, Iftekharuzzaman, Abdul Muyeed Chowdhury, Safar Raj Hossain, Emdadul Haque, and Monir Haider, the Chief Adviser’s Special Assistant on Consensus.
The commission remains focused on creating a unified framework for national governance through dialogue and collaboration across political factions.
