Before choosing any colour, ask yourself what you want; whether a traditional style or modern style.
By using right colours you can change appearance of the room. Here are some nice tips; you can try with the help of colour palette.

n Just add a few notes of energetic colours like green and cobalt blue if you are using cool white colour for decorating whole room in order to avoid a monotonous atmosphere.
n Paint one wall in indigo, dragonfly green or scarlet colours and use the same shade for few accessories like flower pots or cushions to create a sense of continuity.
n Never use dark colours for small rooms as they make the rooms look smaller.
n Use soft colours, which make the space, look larger.
n Paint the walls in more intense colours such as red, dark brown and green if you wish to create an atmosphere of liveliness and cheerfulness.
n Paint the rest walls in white or off-white colour if there is a potent and strong colour like red or orange.
n Use soft tones of blue with white, beige and ochre if you wish to create a serene and tranquil atmosphere.
n Paint your ceiling in white colour to maximise essence of light and space.
n Apply floral wallpapers especially with pastel tones which look wonderful in bedrooms.
Other bedroom decorating tips:
n Use lacy and beaded bed linens with heaps of colourful pillows and cushions, which can add opulence at low cost.
n Decorate your windows with colourful, striped or dot fabric blinds.
n Dress up your doors and windows with gossamer light, deep hued curtains if you do not prefer blinds. Go to a saree shop to get a variety in curtain colours.
n Use popular Romantic, European style furniture made of rich and deep toned woods such as cherry and walnut having stains such as cocoa, java or sienna.
n Always apply light colours like white and cream in children’s study room because these colours induce concentration.  
n Choose medium to dark blue shades for painting boys’ room.
n Use pink, which is favourite colour of girls of any age group.
n Make your bedroom look fresh and relaxing with fresh flowers and colourful candles.
