Colombo Strikers have included right-arm pacer Taskin Ahmed in their squad for the upcoming Lanka Premier League (LPL). The auction of the LPL was held on Tuesday. Taskin Ahmed’s base price was US $ 50,000.
Colombo Strikers have recruited Taskin Ahmed for the upcoming LPL in this price. Taskin Ahmed, who has been newly appointed the vice-captain of Bangladesh Cricket squad, is now staying with Bangladesh Cricket squad to take part in the ICC T20 World Cup scheduled to be held at the USA and the West Indies.
Earlier, Taskin Ahmed was included by many franchise based cricket teams but he was busy with Bangladesh Cricket teams during that time. So, he could not take part in those cricket meets.
The LPL will be held on July 1 and come to an end on July 21.
Earlier, Dambulla Thunders have recruited left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman as the icon cricketer of their squad.
Apart from Mustafizur Rahman and Taskin Ahmed, no Bangladesh cricketers were sold at the auction of LPL.
Ace batter Mushfiqur Rahim’s base price was US $ 50,000, Najmul Hossain Shanto’s base price was US $ 40,000, Tamim Iqbal’s base price was US $ 40,000, Litton Das’ base price was US $ 30,000 and Shoriful Islam’s base price was US $ 30, 000 but no franchise showed interest to buy them.
Sri Lanka Cricket said 420 cricketers were presented for the ‘Players Auction’ out of which 154 were from Sri Lanka and the remaining 266 were overseas players.
