Max Social Enterprises organised a community engagement and mentor on boarding event to launch the coastal water pilot project in Khulna.
Max Social Enterprises (MSE) successfully organized a day-long event titled “Community Engagement and Mentor On boarding for Khulna Pilot Project-1” at CSS Ava Center, Khulna on Thursday. The event brought together over 60 participants, including prominent academics, government agencies, development partners, and community members, who collaborated to launch a sustainable piped water solution in the climate-vulnerable Khajadanga village of Khulna.
The event was inaugurated by Yamin Farooq, Managing Director of MSE, who outlined the organization’s vision to expand safe, affordable and accessible piped water services in coastal Bangladesh through innovative reverse osmosis (RO) technology and community-driven water grid model. The key participants present at the event were: Dr. Kazi Hamidul Bari, Professor, KUET, Md. Atiqul Islam, Professor, Khulna University, Professor Enatul Babar.
Professor, Khulna University, Dr. Anjum Tasnuva, Associate Professor, KUET, Maitree University, Assistant Professor Dr. Shafiqul Islam, Assistant Professor-KUET, Rabeya Sultana, Assistant Professor-Khulna University and Dr. Mohammad Abul Fazal, Groundwater Modeling Expert, EMIS-Dhaka.
The event witnessed the participation of key representatives from DPHE, SNV, BRAC, Palli Bidyut, RRF, Rupantar, JJS, SEED, HYSAWA, GGEL, Khulna Water Source and community leaders actively working in WASH and community development.
The pilot project aims to address the acute water crisis in Khulna caused by salinity, arsenic pollution and climate change, which is possible through a community-driven, technology-enabled water grid.
“This initiative is a step towards making climate-resilient water solutions a reality in our coastal region. Today’s gathering is a testament to the collaborative spirit required to create sustainable impact,” said Yamin Farooq, Managing Director, MSE.
The event concluded with a strong commitment from academics, practitioners and community leaders to support and scale up MSE’s model across the region.
