The government has closed educational institutions across the country to protect the health of students during the severe heat wave. But the private coaching business is going on in full swing in Ishwardi. Every day, students are runningfor coaching from morning to afternoon amid the intense heat wave. Students were seen sitting in piles in private coaching centers. There is no adequate fan system. Many pupils are sweating.
Parents say, it would have been better if private coaching was stopped for a few days during the scorching heat. Amidst the scorching heat, students are running for coaching instead of sitting at home. Many are getting sick after returning home.
A parent, who did not want to be named, said that those in the teaching profession should be humane. But now it’s the other way around. Humanity has been sacrificed for money.
Mimi, a college student who came to study coaching from Rajapur village in the upazila, said that she does not want to leave her house in summer.
Reading is not like that. It would be great if the teachers stopped teaching in this scorching heat. Others say that they cannot understand many things by studying at home as schools and colleges are closed. Studies in coaching are progressing. Examination as soon as school-college opens. If you don’t study, you won’t be able to write the exam.
Former head teacher and brave freedom fighter Siraj Uddin Biswas said that private coaching is a huge business without capital. Those who run the coaching business by compromising the safety of students in the scorching heat are acting unethically.
