Khulna Bureau :
A day-long youth workshop on climate change and sexual and reproductive health was held in Khulna with active participation of young people.
The workshop was organised under the ‘Youth Catalyst’ project, implemented by SERAC-Bangladesh with financial support from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) and assistance from UNFPA.
More than 50 youth representatives from different districts and marginal areas of Khulna division took part in the workshop.
The main objective of the event was to prepare a national white paper on reproductive health services based on the opinions of young people living in climate-vulnerable regions, with the aim of fostering policy changes.
The workshop was chaired by Mohammad Abul Kalam, Divisional Director of the Family Planning Department in Khulna, and moderated by Md. Selim Mia, Deputy Program Director of SERAC-Bangladesh. Distinguished guests included Md. Sadikul Islam, Director of the Department of Environment in Khulna.
