Upazila citizen platform building meeting held at Saidpur upazila on Thursday. This platform is formed to meet the demands of the Project FACING.
Functional Activism & CSO Initiatives for Non-discrimination & Gender Equality (FACING)is a project to achieve gender equality and eliminate discrimination with the technical assistance of GFA Consulting Group Germany, and the financial assistance of the Canadian High Commission and the Swiss Embassy. The meeting was chaired by Kazi Zahid &Rownok Jahan Renu was the presenter of the Program. Mr. Mujibar Rahman, District Project Coordinator of Democracy Watch presented the goals, objectives and activities of the project. He also highlighted the goals to reach and organise citizens from all levels of society in order to increase the representation, recognition and participation of civil society. He especially encouraged youth, women and members of the provincial community in decision-making, influence, accountability and seeking redress for human rights violations at the local level.
