The award giving ceremony of the ‘Citi-Anondo Alo Literary Award 2014’ was held at Channel i office in the city’s Tejgaon area recently.
Sajedul Islam, Country treasurer of Citi Bangladesh and head of markets; Faridur Reza Sagor, Managing Director of Impress Telefilm Ltd and Channel i and Prof Shamsuzzaman Khan, Director General of Bangla Academy and head of the jury committee handed over the awards to the recipients. Rezanur Rahman, Editor of Ananda Alo was also present on the occasion.
This year’s award recipients are Akbar Ali Khan (former adviser to caretaker government) in essay category, while eminent poet Asad Chowdhury received the award in poetry category. In novel category, two novelists Mainul Ahsan Saber and Mohit Kamal were awarded, while Ali Imam and Mahbuba Chowdhury received awards in the category of children’s literature. In the first book category, Mahim Sanyasi and Ratul Hasan also received the awards. n
