UNB, Chuadanga :
A 26-year-old man died after a tree collapsed on him while cutting the tree at Santoshpur village in Jibannagar upazila of Chuadanga district on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Saidur Rahman, son of Muntaj of the village.
SM Jabid Hasan, officer-in-charge of Jibannagar Police Station, said Saidur along with ten other workers were busy cutting a tree at the orchard of one Taleb, near Santoshpur Government Primary School.
At one stage, the tree collapsed on Saidur, leaving him critically injured.
Later, he was taken to the Upazila Health Complex where the doctors declared him dead, said Dr Yeasin Arafat, a physician of the emergency department of the hospital.
