Chinese firm to invest $19.72m in high-end apparel factory at BEPZA EZ

Chinese company October4128 (BD) Ltd is set to invest $19.72 million to establish a high-end garments manufacturing factory at the Bepza Economic Zone (BEPZA EZ) in Mirsharai, Chattogram.
The agreement was formalized on Thursday at the BEPZA Complex in Dhaka.
Md. Ashraful Kabir, Member (Investment Promotion) of BEPZA, signed on behalf of the authority, while Mohammed Taufikul Ahsan, Managing Director of October4128 (BD) Ltd., represented the company. The ceremony was witnessed by Major General Mohammad Moazzem Hossain, Executive Chairman of BEPZA.
The new facility is set to produce approximately 3 million pieces annually, including ski gear, snow sports apparel, hunting and motor rider’s gear, insulated winter coats, down jackets and pants, rain gear, workwear, running wear, yoga wear, and water sportswear. This project is expected to create employment opportunities for 2,788 Bangladeshi nationals.
With this addition, 49 companies have now signed agreements to invest in BEPZA EZ, totaling an investment of around US$1.08 billion.
