Chinese Acting Ambassador to Bangladesh Liu Yuyin on Sunday held a meeting with BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir at BNP Chairperson’s political office in the capital.
BNP sources said that the meeting was held in a very cordial manner and both of them talked on various aspects of the current political affairs and other issues.
The meeting was attended by BNP Standing Committee Member Dr. Abdul Moyeen Khan and Organising Secretary Shama Obaid.
Meanwhile, a high-profile BNP delegation led by Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir is scheduled to visit China at the end of this month.
BNP sources said that at least 10 members would visit Beijing at the invitation of the Communist Party of China (CPC). The meeting is being seen to bolster relations with the Chinese
government and the CPC leaders. Earlier, in May a BNP delegation attended an international conference in Beijing at the invitation of the CPC. The delegation took part in multiple meetings with the leaders of different countries from South-East Asia, North-East Asia and South and mid-Asia.
Even in February, a delegation comprised of members from political parties including BNP led by Dr. Abdul Moyeen Khan visited China at the invitation of the CPC.
Party insiders said that such political meetings are opening up new avenues of discussion and future relations to boost shared community and cooperation for the development of the two countries.
Party sources said that the Sunday’s meeting would deepen the relations between the political leaders of Bangladesh and China.
