Both China and India have expressed profound shock and sorrow over the tragic Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) aircraft crash at Milestone School and College in Dhaka’s Uttara, which claimed the lives of at least 20 people, including students, and left over 170 injured.

In separate condolence messages, the Chinese Embassy in Dhaka and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed their sympathies to the victims’ families and wished the injured a swift recovery.

“The Chinese Embassy is deeply saddened by the loss of lives in the plane crash in Dhaka.

The Embassy offers its deepest condolences to the victims, sympathies to the bereaved families, and wishes the injured a speedy recovery,” read a statement issued by the Chinese mission on Monday.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi also expressed his grief in a message shared via social media and disseminated by the Indian High Commission in Dhaka.

“Deeply shocked and saddened at the loss of lives, many of them young students, in a tragic air crash in Dhaka. Our hearts go out to the bereaved families,” Modi posted on X (formerly Twitter).

He added, “Praying for the swift recovery of those injured in the crash. India stands in solidarity with Bangladesh and is ready to extend all possible support and assistance.”
