Md Abdur Rakib, JnU :

Jannatul Adani, a class 2 student of Ideal Model School in the capital, and Rayat Hossain, a class 2 student of Green International School, came to Jagannath University to donate their personal savings for the flood-affected people. On Tuesday, both accompanied with their mother and deposited the money at the booth set up by JnU students under Shaheed Sajid Academic Building of Jagannath University (JnU).

Not only Adani and Raiat, many more children are donating their money saved in their personal banks to the flood victims

Safwan, a little child, came to Jagannath University on Saturday and gave his 2 years’ worth of money to the flood victims.

A 6-year-old child, Safwan, brought his mother and donated 5,640 Taka deposited in a personal plastic bank to the flood-affected people. Safwan, a class 2 student, refused to give his details to the relief collectors. However, while expressing his feelings, Safwan urged everyone to selflessly donate by avoiding the mundane.

Earlier on Friday at 4:30 pm, another child named Rudra Nandi donated his birthday cake money to the flood victims.
Child Rayat Hossain said, I am donating the money deposited in the plastic bank for the flood victims. If this money helps even a single flood affected person, I will be happy.

Child Jannatul Adani said, long ago I was saving coins in the bank. Today morning I told my mother, I want to give this money to help the helpless people affected by flood. That’s why I came here with my mother to pay the money.

The third year student of the Institute of Education and Research of Jagannath University who is in charge of collecting relief, Rasel said, the children’s selfless giving is an inspiration to us all. Many of us are collecting around 1 lakh relief. There, we are going to distribute ourselves with a truck after spending 20-30 thousand taka.

It is a waste of money due to incoherence, but Safwan and other children do not want to reveal their names. For those still reluctant to provide financial support, there is much to learn from children’s behavior.

Meanwhile, various departments of Jagannath University and Centrally collected funds of about 41 lakh Taka till 5 pm on Sunday with the help of flood victims. Relief collection is still ongoing. Besides, the relief collection information of various departments has not reached the central fund collection team.
