Little Nusrat, just one and a half years old, is suffering from eye cancer in her right eye. Constant tears flow from her eyes, and she struggles to sleep due to the pain. Doctors have urgently recommended surgery to treat her condition.
Nusrat is the daughter of Shah Alam Mandal of Bhabanipur Diapara village in Bhangura upazila of Pabna. The child is under the care of Dr Naeem Ibn Bashar, consultant at Ispahani Islamia Eye Institute and Hospital in Dhaka. It is said a lot of money is needed for the operation. But the poor family is not able to provide the money.
Nusrat’s father Shah Alam said that after 5/6 months of birth, Nusrat developed problems in her right eye. Then she was taken to Sirajganj Eye Hospital. After tests there, it was found that her right eye was affected by cancer. Currently, the child is undergoing chemotherapy in her eyes. The eye will have to be removed surgically.
