Chattagram Bureau :
During the holiday declared by the government on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, the operational work of Chattagram Port Authority (CPA) will continue round the clock (except from 08.00 am to 16.00 pm on Eid).
CPA and Chattagram Customs House will remain open as usual. For this purpose, the Customs Department will also take all necessary measures, similar to the measures already taken by the CPA.
Before Eid-ul-Azha, a hotline number with round the clock connectivity has been set up by the Customs Department.
The mobile number of Mr. Kamrul Islam Majumder, Assistant Traffic Manager (Ship and Yard) will be operational on behalf of the CBA on 01715-163999.
A Task Force has already been formed by the CPA with the participation of various stakeholders. Mr. Md. Saiful Alam, Terminal Manager, Port Authority mobile number-01819-321560 will be available for communication with the said Task Force in case of emergency.
An officer of the Customs Department will be deployed for round-the-clock coordination of the work of the Task Force.
At the request of various business organizations, for the past few years, a large number of employees have been deployed on additional allowance during the holy Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Azha to keep the operations of Chattagram Port open 24×7.
But in comparison, the amount of goods delivered by importers from the port is very negligible.
In this context, it is hoped that all importers and business organizations will be able to take delivery of containerized goods from Chittagong Port during the Eid-ul-Azha holidays as usual.
Among the FCL containers brought through Chattagram Port, all other FCL containers carrying goods, except BGMEA containers, will be transferred to off-docks for a period of 02 (two) months after Eid-ul-Azha on a trial basis and released.
In this regard, all the stakeholders concerned have been requested to take necessary measures and preparations in their respective fields to keep the import and export trade of the country uninterrupted.
