A teaching program is being conducted by three teachers in Chandraprova Vidyapeeth, a hundred years old traditional educational institution. Among these 3 people are head teacher and physical education teacher. Bangladesh Railway’s traditional educational institution ‘ Chandraprova Vidyapeeth’ was established in 1924 at Pakshi in Ishwardi. India’s eminent poet Shankh Ghosh, country’s eminent kidney specialist doctor Kamrul Islam studied in this centenary institution.
It is known that former student Dr. Kamrul Islam has personally paid 2 guest teachers after hearing about the shortage of teachers. The railway authorities arranged for some teachers of Pakshi College to come and teach in the school from time to time. That is, the effort to keep it going by clapping.
The road to the school is full of potholes. Students and teachers cannot travel on this road even on foot. Students’ bicycles are often damaged due to road damage. The road becomes muddy in the rain. Due to which the students are often forced to return home due to dirty clothes in the muddy water.
Abul Kalam Azad, a former student of Chandraprova and retired professor, brave freedom fighter Abul Kalam Azad said, the luster of this hundred-year-old educational institution has faded. It hurts me to see the misery. One demand is to solve the crisis by appointing teachers.
Ashraf Ali Khan Manju, general secretary of ex-students’ organization ‘Praktoni’, said that by organizing the centenary celebrations, effective steps will be taken by the ex-students to resolve the teacher crisis.
Ex-student former MP Sirajul Islam Sardar said, We who are ex-students of this school are trying to bring back the hundred years of tradition with collective initiative. Our demand to the government is to remove the teacher crisis by appointing teachers.
Head teacher Kamrul Islam said that due to the shortage of teachers, despite being the head teacher, he has to teach the students in the class while working in the office.
