Sakhawat Hossain (Sharif), a distinguished expatriate entrepreneur from Chandpur, has been honored with the prestigious Bangladesh Remitters Award 2025 in Singapore.

The award was presented to him on Sunday, July 20, at a grand ceremony held at the Z Ballroom of Novotel Hotel, Singapore. Dr. Ahsan H. Mansur, Governor of Bangladesh Bank, handed over the award in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the country’s remittance sector.

The event was organized jointly by all Bangladeshi exchange houses operating in Singapore, under the coordination of Bangladesh Bank. Sharif was nominated by Prime Exchange, an international remittance company affiliated with Prime Bank Limited.

Sakhawat Hossain is currently serving as the Country Manager for the Shahjalal brand of Comediti Connect Pte Ltd, a Singapore-based company.

In his speech, Dr. Ahsan H. Mansur highlighted the vital role of expatriates in strengthening the national economy through legal channels of remittance. “Sending remittances through official channels is crucial for the country’s economic growth. The government has introduced various incentives to support this,” he stated.

The event was also attended by Mohammad Samiullah, CEO of Prime Bank, Syed Abu Naser Bakhtiar, Dr. Nazrul Islam, Deputy High Commissioner of Bangladesh in Singapore, Gurmit Singh, Chairman of the Takrul Group, along with other prominent Bangladeshi businessmen, banking officials, and dignitaries.

This is the first time Sakhawat Hossain (Sharif) has received this top honor as a “Remittance Warrior.” His achievement is being hailed not only as a pride for Chandpur but also as a source of inspiration for expatriate entrepreneurs across the nation.
