CGAA organises health camp in flood affected areas

On the initiative of Chattogram Garments Accessories Association (CGAA) in cooperation of Mirsarai Upazila Parishad, two health camps were organized at Aburhat High School and Zorargonj Aburhat High School in flood-affected areas of Mirsarai on 30 August last. The social service organization “Hritspandan” run by young doctors and medical students. Two teams of doctors under the leadership of Dr. Mizanur Rahman, the founder of the Foundation, provided services to about 1700 patients in two spots from 10 am to 6 pm with essential medicines, water purification tablets, sanitary napkins, cakes and chocolates for children.
General Secretary of the organisation Mohammad Belal in coordination with the director, members have taken various steps to provide services to the flood affected areas with their own funds. The team of Dhaka directors of the organization donated Tk 16 lakh to the Chief Adviser’s relief fund and health camps were organized in these flood affected areas as part of the service delivery. Joint General Secretary Mr. Mohammad Nashir Uddin, Director Mr. Anamul Haque, Mr. Arifur Rahman, Taufiqul Alam supervised the service camp on the ground. Mr. Ainul Kabir, a prominent garment businessman from Zorarganj, coordinated with the Upazila Parishad to distribute a truckload of clothes to the participants.
Mirsarai Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mrs. Mahfuza Zerin provided overall support to the health camp. Assistant Commissioner (Land) Mr. Prashant Chakraborty along with acting chairman of various unions of upazila administration supervised the activities of the health camp. Mrs. Mahfuza Zereen requested to arrange camps in some more affected areas. In response Chittagong Garments Accessories Association said that it will continue this service. The chief advisor of the organization Mohammad Iqbal, the President Jasim Uddin Chowdhury, of The Purvokone Limited thanked the organisers and expressed gratitudes, sources said.
