Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) A M M Nasir Uddin has praised Election Commission officials for successfully completing the voter list update within a short period of time.
Speaking to officials on Sunday following the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays, the CEC said, “You have accomplished the impossible. You completed the voter registration process very efficiently and swiftly. Your work is commendable, and every step is being communicated to the government in a timely manner.”
He further noted that tasks related to the National ID (NID) system and delimitation are also progressing smoothly.
Other Election Commissioners, the EC’s Senior Secretary, and high-ranking officials were present at the gathering.
According to the latest update, the total number of registered voters in the country now stands at 123,732,274. The door-to-door voter list update campaign is currently ongoing and is scheduled to conclude on April 11.
