Leaders of Chittagong Chamber of Commerce & Industry have called upon Finance Minister to simplify the loan policy of Bangladesh Bank aimed at exemption of bank interests for two quarters for the traders of Chittagong.
Chamber President Mahbubul Alam in a urgent letter requested the Minister to consider the matter sympathetically of the traders as they had to suffer setbacks due to ongoing political turmoil of the country.
The letter was told that due to shortage transport trucks and vandalism of vehicles on way by the hartal picketers , the traders had to pay transport fare by 3 to 4 times high than the earlier and the transportation of essential commodities fears high risk on way, the traders had to suffer financially as well the consumers.
Chamber President requested him to consider the matter of exemption of bank interests for atleast 2 quarters following the simplifying the BB police on bank loans, sources said.
