Chattagram City Corporation (CCC) Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain has announced all kinds of cooperation to revamp the city’s education sector, in addition to continuing investment and subsidies in the expansion of education.
On Thursday , he inaugurated Bangladesh Air Force Shaheen College Road adjacent to Airport Road in South Patenga Ward No. 41.
Also present during the inauguration were CCC Secretary Ashraful Amin, Chief Engineer Anisur Rahman, Chief Cleaning Officer Commander Ikhtiar Uddin Ahmed Chowdhury, Superintending Engineer Jasim Uddin, Executive Engineer Ashiqul Islam, Base Commander Air vice Marshal Haider Abdullah, Air Commodore Mahmud, Group Captain Jalal Uddin, Saleh Ahmed Khan, Adjutant Squadron Leader Abdul Mumit, and Engineer Mohammad Ali. Chattagram City Education Society is constructing a road from Boat Club to Gupta Canal at a cost of Tk 99.97 crore. Under this, a 700-foot-long RCC road has been constructed in front of Bangladesh Air Force Shaheen College Road.
In addition, the mayor was the chief guest at a colorful program to inaugurate the newly built academic building of Muslim Education Society High School, one of the traditional educational institutions of Chattagramcity, in Andarkilla ward of the city, and to mark the annual sports competition 2025. The event was presided over by the school president A.R.M. Shamim Uddin, and was also attended by the chairman of the Secondary and Higher Secondary Chattagram Education Board, Professor Ilias Uddin Ahmed, Chief Reporter of Daily Azadi Hasan Akbar, Omar Ali Faisal, Headmaster of the school ZulfikarHaider Chowdhury, Assistant Headmaster Khairul Bashar.
At the time, the mayor said that among the city corporations of Bangladesh, Chattagram City Education Society is the only one that invests heavily in the education and health sectors. Currently, CCC is turning about 65 thousand students into skilled human resources through 88 educational institutions.
In this case, I consider the subsidy that has to be given every year as an investment rather than an expense. Because if children can be developed as good citizens through education, they will be able to play a role in the development of Chattagram and the country in the future.
Therefore, as the mayor, I will continue to invest in the education sector. Education is a field where it is possible to build an enlightened society if invested in. Every month, CCC has to spend six to eight crore taka on the education sector, which is actually an important investment. This is not just a matter of votes, but part of a long-term plan for the future.
