CCC road will reduce traffic congestion in CEPZ areas: Mayor

To reduce the traffic congestion of EPZ, the foundation of road construction work has been laid by Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) Mayor Md Rezaul Karim Chowdhury.
The length of the under-construction road will be 2400 metres and width will be 11 metres with sidewalks and drains on both sides of the railbit road from EPZ intersection of South Central Halishahar No 38 to Chanderpara Moiler Depot. While laying the foundation stone on Sunday (January 28), the Mayor said that if this road is built as an alternative road to Sheikh Mujib Road, traffic congestion in EPZ, Anandabazar and Agrabad will be reduced. Especially in these areas, this road will greatly reduce the suffering of people returning home after working in various institutions.
“You remember I took responsibility and saw that PC road work was stopped, people were dying in accidents. I took my own risk and canceled and fined the negligent contractors and completed the PC road quickly. Work of Tk60 crore is going on in this ward, I will give another project of Tk100 crore,” the Mayor said.
Member of Parliament MA Latif said that the Prime Minister gives responsibility to the one in whose hands it is safe. Rezaul Karim was given the charge of Mayor by the Prime Minister and the Prime Minister nominated me as Member of Parliament for the fourth time. The Prime Minister has given Mayor Rezaul a project worth 2500 crores to beautify Chattogram. Major development is going on in my seat under the project.
