Red Crescent Society Treasurer MA Salam said, “Red Crescent is ready to provide all kinds of support to the government to control dengue.

We will soon conduct special awareness programs in 20 dengue-infested wards of the city with the help of volunteers.”

The CCC’s Chief Health Officer Dr Salim Akhter Chowdhury said, “Under the direction of the mayor, 150,000 people have been tested for free dengue so far.

The kits received today will also be used for free dengue testing.” Director of Chattogram Medical College Hospital, Brig Gen Md Shamim Ahsan said that even though the dengue situation in Chattogram has been brought under control by all public and private organisations working together, the heavy rains in Chattogram have created a fear of dengue outbreak again after a few days. For this reason, Chattogram Mayor has taken a large scale operation to clean the Qurbani wastes in just one day.

The free kits and mosquito nets were received by representatives of Chattogram Medical College Hospital, 250-bed General Hospital, Chattogram City Corporation General Hospital, Bangladesh Institute of Tropical and Infectious Diseases (BITID), Southern Medical College Hospital, Mother and Child Hospital, Chattogram Heart Foundation Hospital.
