Former parliament member from Pabna-4 constituency Ghalibur Rahman Sharif has been named as the main accused in the case of shooting and bombardment of anti-discrimination activists in Ishwardi. 71 leaders and activists of Awami League, Jubo League and Chhatra League have been accused in the case.
On Thursday (August 15), a person named Nazrul Islam of Paschim Tengri area of the city filed the case. Inspector (Investigation) of Ishwardi Police Station ABM Monirul Islam confirmed the matter.
One of the defendants in the case is Upazila Parishad Chairman Imdadul Haque Rana Sardar, Municipality Mayor Ishahak Ali Malitha, Upazila Parishad Chairman Moklechur Rahman Mintu and Upazila Jubo League President Shirhan Sharif Tamal.
Inspector (Investigation) of Ishwardi Police Station ABM Monirul Islam said that on Thursday afternoon, a plaintiff named Nazrul Islam filed a written complaint naming 71 people and naming many others as defendants.
