The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed a case against former Jail Superintendent of Cox’s Bazar Bazlur Rashid Akhand and his wife Nachima Sultana on allegations of corruption in various fields including irregularities-corruption, investigations, transfers.

The case was filed on Monday. Previously, last Sunday (October 27), the Anti-Corruption Commission approved the filing of the case.

Bazlur Rashid Akhand (57), who is currently on compulsory retirement, illegally obtained 61 lakh 79 thousand 411 rupees through corruption.

After the initial verification, the ACC directed Nachima Sultana to submit the asset declaration.
During the investigation, 43 lakh 47 thousand 859 taka immovable assets and 41 lakh 79 thousand 68 taka immovable assets were found in the name of Nachima Sultana, wife of accused Bajlur Rashid Akhand. The total value of Nachima Sultana’s acquired immovable and immovable assets is 85 lakh 26 thousand 927 taka.
