Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Center for Atmospheric Pollution Studies (CAPS) to strengthen cooperation in air pollution control, environmental protection and academic research.
The MoU was signed on Sunday (December 14, 2025) at the Vice Chancellor’s Conference Room of NSTU. Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Muhammad Ismail signed the agreement on behalf of the university, while Professor Dr. Ahmad Kamruzzaman Majumder, Chairman of CAPS, signed on behalf of the research organization.
Among those present at the signing ceremony were Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Rezwanul Haque, Treasurer Professor Dr. Mohammad Hanif Murad, Dean of the Faculty of Science Professor Dr. Mohammad Mohinuzzaman, Acting Registrar Mohammad Tamjid Hossain Chowdhury, CAPS Lead Researcher Marziat Rahman and Communication Adviser Abdullah Hasan, among others.
Under the agreement, a “Clean Air Club” will be established at NSTU, and an air quality monitoring device will be installed on the campus for one year with technical support from CAPS. The five-year agreement also provides for joint national and international research projects, thesis supervision, and awareness-building activities on environmental issues.
Both institutions expressed optimism that the collaboration would contribute significantly to improving air quality research and promoting environmental sustainability in Bangladesh.
