A diverse coalition of six environmental and social organizations DOPS, CEED, Oil Change, Fossil Free Japan, CLEAN and BWGED with civil society groups and concerned citizens of Rangpur challenged the investment in fossil fuels through a campaign demonstration protest.
A coalition of environmental organizations, activists, and concerned citizens has launched a campaign aimed at ending of funding fossil fuel projects. The coalition, composed of grassroots movements and established environmental NGOs, asserts that continued investment in fossil fuels contradicts global efforts to combat climate change and transition to a sustainable energy future.
The protests, led by frontline communities in the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Bangladesh, the United States, Mozambique, Canada, and Australia, sought to draw G7 climate, energy, and environment ministers’ attention to the injustices surrounding the impacts of LNG financing to biodiversity, livelihood, and community safety and persuade to end community harms by ceasing its fossil fuel finance.
