The Council of Advisers has given in-principle approval to the draft Voters’ List (Amendment) Ordinance, 2025, during its 34th meeting held Thursday, July 17, at the Chief Adviser’s Office in Tejgaon, Dhaka, according to a Cabinet Division press release.
The ordinance is part of broader electoral reforms aimed at improving Bangladesh’s voting system.
Alongside the voters’ list amendment, the council also approved the draft Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (Amendment) Ordinance, 2025, to strengthen investment promotion and support economic growth.
Additionally, the draft Human Organ Transplantation Ordinance, 2025 received final approval, pending vetting by the Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Division. The ordinance seeks to tighten oversight and improve legal safeguards around organ transplants.
The approvals reflect the interim government’s commitment to institutional reform in the areas of democracy, economy, and public health.
