CA to leave for Rome today

Chief Adviser to the Interim Government Prof Muhammad Yunus will leave Dhaka for Rome, the capital city of Italy, on Sunday to attend a flagship event of the World Food Forum (WFF).
A flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines will carry the chief adviser and his entourages from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) around 11.30 am, Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam told the media.
As per tour schedule, Prof Yunus, the Nobel laureate, will deliver a speech as an invited guest at the main session of the WFF.
In addition, he has a series of meetings including Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and heads of various international organisations.
Sources said that the talks would focus mainly on global issues such as food security, poverty alleviation, and sustainable development.
The WFF is a platform of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations where policymakers, researchers, and entrepreneurs from the globe exchange views on the future of food systems.
This year’s WFF event is being held at the FAO Headquarters in Rome from 10 to 17 October.
This visit is being considered as a significant reflection of the country’s proactive diplomatic engagement on the international arena. Prof Yunus is scheduled to come back home on October 15.
