Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus is scheduled to hold meetings with leaders of the BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami, and the National Citizen Party (NCP) on Sunday to discuss the upcoming national election and the current state of the country.

The CA’s Press Secretary, Shafiqul Alam, confirmed the schedule to the media at the State Guest House, Jamuna, on Saturday.

Alam stated that the Chief Adviser will meet the leadership of BNP, Jamaat, and NCP individually to deliberate on both the present situation and preparations for the forthcoming national election, with the NCP meeting set for 4:30 pm and 6:00 pm, respectively.

In response to a query, the press secretary emphasized that no conspiracy could prevent the government from conducting the election as planned in February next year.

Earlier, the CA Press Wing released a statement urging all political and social forces that participated in the July Uprising to maintain unity.
Meanwhile, the interim government has declared that it will decisively counter any conspiracies, obstacles, or attempts to postpone or derail the upcoming national election slated for February.

“In the strongest terms, the interim government reiterates that the national election will be held as planned in the first half of February 2026. This remains our solemn pledge to the people of Bangladesh,” read a government statement issued on Saturday.

Calling for unity among all political and social forces who participated in the July Uprising, the government urged collective resistance against any plot to undermine the people’s mandate and emphasized the shared responsibility to secure a democratic transition.

“No individual, no matter how powerful or influential, will be exempt from accountability. Justice will be delivered promptly and with full transparency,” the statement affirmed.

As part of this effort, Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus is scheduled to meet on Sunday with leaders of the BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami, and the National Citizen Party (NCP) to discuss both the election and the prevailing situation in the country.
