Businessman’s house construction halted due to opposition in Feni

Due to previous enmity over land, the construction work of a businessman named Musa Mia in Feni has been stopped due to opposition. Due to this, the materials for the house construction work are being destroyed. As a result, the businessman is facing a loss of about 3 million taka. For protesting about this, the businessman has been accused of being harassed in various ways, including assault and lawsuits.
According to various sources, including locals, Musa Mia Gong, son of the late Sultan Ahmed of Katalia village in Baligaon union of Feni Sadar upazila, had been living as an occupant for a long time through purchase and sale. Recently, when businessman Musa Mia started building a new house by bringing rods, cement, bricks and sand along with equipment, Abu Bakkar Siddique Gong repeatedly stopped him due to revenge and past enmity. When he went to protest, the adversaries attacked the family members of the victim Musa Mia on February 28 at around 11:30 am.
In this incident, Ismail Hossain became the plaintiff and filed a complaint naming 5 people including Abu Bakkar Siddique and 7/8 unknown people as accused.
Meanwhile, the adversaries have also filed a case against Musa Mia Gong in the Additional District Magistrate Court. It is claimed that this is a harassment case.
A local source said that the construction of Musa Mia’s house has been forcibly stopped for the purpose of harassment. Otherwise, if there is a dispute over the land, the matter can be resolved with documents and evidence, but without that, the opponents are committing these wrongdoings by force.
Despite repeated attempts to contact Feni Model Police Station SI Anwar Hossain regarding the court case, his statement could not be obtained.
Meanwhile, regarding the allegations of attack, Feni Model Police Station SI Oli Ahad, the investigation officer, said that appropriate legal action will be taken regarding the matter.
