The elite force Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-1) has arrested the driver of the bus that lost control and crashed through the boundary wall of the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport’s (HSIA) third terminal on Friday morning, killing a civil aviation engineer.
The driver is Hasan Mahmud Himel and he was arrested from Hizla upazila of Barisal on Saturday morning, said RAB-1 officials. Details regarding the issue will be briefed later.
Earlier, a local bus, named Raida Paribahan, toppled the boundary wall of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport’s third terminal after killing a civil aviation engineer in Dhaka.
The accident took place in front of the Dhaka Elevated Expressway at around 10am on Friday.
Soon after the incident, the bus driver and helper fled the scene. However, the bus was seized.
