Following the Bangladesh Air Force jet crash at Milestone School and College in Dhaka’s Diabari, the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery has opened an emergency hotline to support rescue and treatment efforts.

The Chief Advisor’s Office announced the hotline number — 01949043697 — for emergency coordination and inquiries.

National Citizen Party (NCP) Convenor Nahid Islam expressed deep concern over the incident and urged party members to aid in rescue operations, assist with medical care for the injured, and coordinate with relevant authorities.

An NCP-led medical team is currently operating at Dhaka Medical College Hospital and the burn institute. The team includes Dr Md Abdul Ahad, Dr Mahmuda Alam Mitu, Dr Md Yusuf Jamil Tihan, Dr Monir Hossain, Dr Maruful Islam, Dr Sabbir Ahmed, and media coordinator Khan Muhammad Mursalin.

Dr Shawon Bin Rahman, resident surgeon at the burn institute, confirmed that 60 injured individuals had arrived at the emergency department as of Monday evening.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Air Force’s F-7 BGI training jet crashed just after takeoff at 1:06 pm and caught fire on impact. Eight Fire Service units were deployed to control the flames.

Shah Bulbul, spokesman for Milestone School and College, said the aircraft crashed into the school’s main gate while classes were in session. “We’re rescuing the injured one by one,” he told bdnews24.com.

Eyewitnesses reported multiple injured students being carried into ambulances on stretchers.

To maintain law and order during the rescue effort, two platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have been deployed.

The injured have been taken to various hospitals, including:

National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery

Uttara Adhunik Medical College Hospital

Kuwait-Bangladesh Friendship Government Hospital

Uttara Women’s Medical College Hospital

Mansur Ali Medical College

Kurmitola General Hospital
