Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Aminul Islam Bulbul and Vice-President Nazmul Abedeen Fahim are Cicket Board (BCB) elections after three nomination papers were rejected, a returning officer said on Monday.
The nomination process for the position of director in the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) concluded on Sunday.
Out of 60 nomination forms collected on Saturday, 51 were submitted by the deadline. Following scrutiny, the Election Commission declared three nominations invalid on Monday, leaving a total of 48 valid nominations.
Dr. Sheikh Jubayed Hasan, BCB’s Returning Officer, announced that 48 of the 51 nomination papers submitted for the Board of Directors election 2025 were validated.
The invalid papers included SM Abdullah Al Fuad Redwan from Jamalpur District Sports Association, Shaokat Hossain from Chandpur District Sports Association, and Hasibul Alam from Rajshahi Divisional Sports Association.
As a result, the remaining two candidates from Dhaka – Aminul Islam Bulbul and Nazmul Abedin Fahim – are set to win unopposed.
The other two invalid nominations include one from the Chandpur District Sports Association under the Chattogram Division and another from a sports association in the Rajshahi Division.
According to the election schedule, an objection period is set for today. Those whose nominations were rejected have the right to appeal, and the Election Commission will hold hearings before making a final decision.
Earlier, in Category 1 (District-Division), 25 individuals had submitted nominations: 3 from Dhaka, 5 from Chattogram, 3 from Khulna, 4 from Rajshahi, 3 from Sylhet, 6 from Rangpur, and 1 from Barishal. From Category 2 (Dhaka clubs), 32 nominations were filed, while Category 3 saw 3 nominations submitted.
