Bulbul Ahmed’s biopic to be made by daughter Oindrila

Bulbul Ahmed is one of the bright names of Bangladesh cinema. He was an actor, producer and director.
This actor’s colourful life will appear on the silver screen. Bulbul Ahmed’s biopic has been decided to make by his daughter actress Tazrin Farhana Oindrila.
Oindrila informed that the whole life story of Bulbul Ahmed will come up in this movie. From his childhood to working in the bank, and his acting career will be shown in this movie. Oindrila has already finalised the story. She will start writing the screenplay soon. While talking in this regrad, Oindrila told this correspondent, “Abbu’s film life is vast and colourful. There are many interesting incidents in his life. I want to see them. For this reason, I want to make the biopic a big event. I don’t want to rush. I hope I can show the story of my father’s life on the screen.”
Oindrila said that several actors will be seen playing the role of Bulbul Ahmed.
In this regard, she said, “Since many stages of my father’s life will be shown here, different actors will be seen at different ages in this biopic. I will finalise the cast list after the script is completed.” Earlier Oindrila made a documentary about Bulbul Ahmed in 2010. She thinks that the experience of making movie will be useful.
Oindrila told this correspondent, “Everyone liked the documentary made about Abbu. Now it is aired on Channel i on his birth and death anniversaries. I want to make the movie better by using its production experience. I have also studied cinema. I want to use that experience.”
Bulbul Ahmed’s acting career started in 1958 with stage plays. He made his debut in television drama in 1968 with Abdullah Al Mamun’s drama ‘Purbabash’. He entered the cinema in 1973 through the movie ‘Yea Kore Biye’, directed by Abdullah Yousuf Imam (Yousuf Zahir).
Bulbul Ahmed’s notable movies are – ‘Shimana Periye’, ‘Mohona’, ‘Mohanayok’, ‘Wada’, ‘Jonmo Theke Jolchhi’, ‘Devdas’, ‘Bhalo Manush’, ‘Bodnam’, ‘Dui Jibon’, ‘Dipu Number 2’, ‘Rajlakshmi Srikanto’ etc. In 1976, Bulbul Ahmed won the Zahir Raihan Award as the Best Actor for his performance in the movie ‘Surjo Konnya’ directed by Alamgir Kabir. He received the National Award four times. He passed away on July 15, 2010.
