Adviser for Environment, Forests, Climate Change and Water Resources Syeda Rizwana Hasan said on Monday it is possible to build a Bangladesh free from exploitation and injustice by ensuring the rule of law and justice.
She said, “Together, we can build a Bangladesh free from exploitation and injustice, where the rule of law and justice will prevail, setting an example for others.”
She made the statement while delivering the convocation speech as the Convocation President at the graduation ceremony of the International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT) at the Bangladesh International Conference Center (BICC).
The Environmental Adviser said, “The dream of a new Bangladesh has been realised due to your courage and sacrifices. You have fought against injustice and inequality.”
She reminded students that a successful career is not the ultimate goal-serving society is the true measure of success.
Highlighting the environmental challenges of the current development model, she added, “Development must not put undue pressure on nature.
Progress is possible without harming the environment and for that, we need to change our perception of development.”
She urged IUBAT to take a leading role in promoting an environmentally friendly development model.
