Everyone must come forward to build a green environment. There is no alternative to planting trees to protect the environment.
To protect the balance of the city’s environment, combat the effects of climate change and build a healthy and beautiful city for the next generation, City Mayor Dr. Shahadat has called on everyone to come forward to plant trees from now on.
On Thursday, at a tree planting and sapling handover program organised in front of the CCC office at Tiger Pass, the Lions Club of Chattogram handed over 1,000 saplings to Chattogram City Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain. Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain said, trees are our best friends.
Once upon a time, Bangladesh was full of forest land and green trees. But due to uncontrolled encroachment, hill clearing and forest destruction, the green cover has decreased.
Therefore, everyone must participate in tree planting spontaneously. Lions Club of Chattogram President Lion Rebecca Nasrin presided over the event, which was also attended by Daily Azadi Editor and former District Governor Lion MA Malek, Daily Amar Desh Resident Editor Jahidul Karim Kochi and others.
